153 Ugolyok is a productive midseason indeterminate tomato known for its distinctive black-purple fruits with glowing red blushes. Vigorous plants reach approximately 5.6–6.6 feet tall and produce attractive clusters containing about 9–12 smooth, round fruits. Tomatoes typically weigh approximately 2.1–2.5 oz each, with some fruits growing larger under favorable conditions. Each fruit develops a unique combination of deep purple-black coloring and rich red tones as it ripens. The bright red interior is meaty, juicy, and pleasantly sweet, making this Russian variety an excellent choice for fresh eating, salads, appetizers, garnishes, and whole-fruit preserving. Train plants to one or two main stems and provide sturdy staking or trellising throughout the season.
