145 Renegade is an exceptionally flavorful midseason indeterminate tomato developed and stabilized by Blane Horton from an original cross made by Dr. Randy Gardner. Vigorous regular-leaf vines grow approximately 5.9 feet tall and maintain dense, healthy foliage throughout the season. The highly productive plants bear flattened, gently to heavily ribbed beefsteaks weighing approximately 6–16 oz. Fruits ripen to a remarkable green-bronze exterior washed with pink, brick-red, and blood-red coloring, sometimes accented by narrow golden-yellow margins. Inside, the lime-green flesh develops beautiful pink-to-red marbling around the center. The dense yet juicy texture is complemented by an exceptionally sweet, rich, and fruity flavor with a balanced finish. This heat-tolerant variety also demonstrates useful disease resilience and continues growing and setting fruit until autumn conditions slow the vines. Provide strong stakes, cages, or trellising to support the vigorous plants and heavy fruits. Excellent for fresh slicing, sandwiches, salads, salsa, colorful sauces, and multicolored tomato platters.
