139 Mordovian Dwarf F5 is a striking midseason dwarf tomato selected by Russian breeder N. V. Zhegalin from his Blue Dwarf variety and first presented in 2021. Compact, sturdy plants commonly grow approximately 1–2 feet tall and feature broad, deeply rugose regular leaves. The productive plants bear rounded to slightly flattened tomatoes weighing approximately 5.3–7.1 oz. As the fruits ripen, their pink to deep raspberry-red background develops brilliant indigo-purple to nearly black anthocyanin coloring across the sun-exposed shoulders. Stronger direct sunlight generally produces darker and more extensive pigmentation. Inside, the rich raspberry-colored flesh is juicy, tender, and meaty, delivering a pleasantly sweet tomato flavor with an appealing fruity finish. The compact plants are well suited to patio containers, raised beds, small gardens, and greenhouse production, although a short stake or cage is recommended to support the heavy fruits. Harvest when the shaded portions of the skin have developed their full raspberry-pink color and the fruit yields slightly to gentle pressure. Excellent for fresh slicing, sandwiches, salads, roasting, colorful sauces, and ornamental edible displays.
