127 Lime Green Salad, originally named Green Elf by breeder Tom Wagner, is an early compact determinate tomato developed for productive harvests in limited garden space. Sturdy, bushy plants commonly remain approximately 2–3 feet tall and produce heavy clusters without requiring sucker pruning or single-stem training. The rounded to slightly flattened salad and slicing tomatoes commonly weigh approximately 3–5 oz, although some plants may produce smaller fruits. Tomatoes remain lime green to yellow-green when ripe and gradually develop distinctive olive-bronze and amber-gold blushes. Inside, the juicy chartreuse flesh delivers an excellent full-bodied flavor combining rich sweetness, bright tanginess, refreshing acidity, and a lightly spicy finish. Because the fruit remains green when ripe, harvest when the skin develops warmer amber tones and the tomato yields slightly to gentle pressure. A short cage or stake is recommended once the compact plants become heavily loaded with fruit. Excellent for containers, raised beds, small gardens, fresh slicing, sandwiches, salads, salsa verde, green sauces, and colorful tomato platters.
