1158 Cinnamon Pear is a distinctive early-to-midseason indeterminate cherry tomato introduced through the 2009 Seed Savers Exchange Yearbook. Moderately vigorous regular-leaf vines generally reach approximately 5 feet tall and may grow up to 7 feet in fertile soil. The productive plants develop attractive elongated pear-shaped fruits weighing approximately 0.4–0.7 oz and measuring about 1–1.75 inches long. Each smooth fruit ripens to an unusual blend of cinnamon red, mahogany brown, and dark brick red, often retaining an olive-green blush across the shoulders. Inside, the juicy red-brown flesh surrounds darker green gel-filled seed chambers. Its smooth, sweet flavor offers rich tomato character, balanced acidity, and subtle fruity or berry-like notes. The cinnamon name refers to the warm brown fruit color rather than a spice flavor. Provide sturdy staking or trellising for the long vines and productive clusters. Excellent for fresh snacking, salads, antipasto platters, roasting, drying, and richly colored tomato sauces.
