1153 Dwarf Beautiful Ones is a highly productive midseason indeterminate dwarf tomato created by American breeder Bill Yoder as part of his Prince-inspired collection. Compact, tree-type plants grow approximately 2–3.3 feet tall and develop deeply textured, dark green potato leaves. The sturdy plants continue setting heavy clusters of round green-when-ripe tomatoes through the season and may produce until frost. Fruits from this selection weigh approximately 1.1–1.4 oz and mature from medium green to luminous lime, yellow-green, or emerald green, often retaining slightly darker shoulders. Inside, the exceptionally juicy green flesh surrounds darker gel-filled seed chambers. Its refreshing flavor combines pronounced sweetness, full tomato character, and a pleasant touch of balanced acidity. Harvest when the skin develops a warmer yellow-green cast and the fruit gives slightly under gentle pressure. Plants require little or no sucker pruning, although a stake or compact cage is recommended to support the heavily loaded branches. Excellent for fresh snacking, salads, salsa, bruschetta, and colorful tomato platters.
