1142 Orange Peach is a distinctive midseason indeterminate heirloom tomato discovered as a chance cross in the garden of Pennsylvania grower James Weaver. Maturing in approximately 75 days, the vigorous regular-leaf vines generally reach 5–7 feet and continue setting fruit throughout the season. This selection produces glowing peach-orange tomatoes weighing approximately 2–4 oz, with shapes ranging from oval and egg-shaped to elongated globes. A delicate layer of fine fuzz gives the skin a soft, velvety texture reminiscent of a ripe peach. Inside, the brilliant orange flesh is exceptionally juicy and tender, offering pronounced sweetness and a pleasant, fruity tomato flavor. The productive vines benefit from staking, caging, or trellising to support their numerous fruit clusters.
