114 Marsha's Starfighter Beefsteak is a striking midseason indeterminate tomato developed by Florida breeder Marsha Eisenberg from the Starfighter breeding line. Vigorous regular-leaf plants typically reach approximately 5–6.6 feet and produce abundant crops of flattened, lightly ribbed beefsteak fruits weighing approximately 7.1–14.1 oz, with occasional larger specimens. The fruits ripen to deep red, cherry red, mahogany, or reddish brown while developing dramatic indigo-purple to nearly black anthocyanin shoulders in direct sunlight. Green, bronze, gold, raspberry, and dark red streaks create a complex galactic pattern that varies naturally from fruit to fruit. The dense burgundy-red flesh is firm, meaty, and juicy, with green gel surrounding the seeds. Its rich, complex flavor combines pronounced sweetness, savory tomato depth, pleasant acidity, and a fruity finish. Train plants to one or two main stems and provide heavy-duty staking or trellising. Excellent for fresh slicing, sandwiches, salads, tomato platters, sauces, roasting, and collector gardens.
