1134 Pelican's Beak is a striking midseason indeterminate tomato developed from the cross Rebel Starfighter VT16 × Beautiful Lovely Black. Vigorous plants can reach approximately 5.9 feet tall and produce distinctive heart-shaped fruits with a pronounced pointed "beak." As the fruit ripens, the upper shoulders develop dramatic black to deep purple-black coloration, while the lower portion transitions into rich red-purple tones. Color intensity and the balance between dark shoulders and red-purple lower skin may vary from fruit to fruit, creating a spectacular display on the same plant. The interior shows deep red to crimson flesh with darker pigments and a juicy, full-bodied texture. Its flavor is rich and tomato-forward with a subtle smoky note. Provide sturdy staking or trellising for the tall vines.
